| LPQualified (LPQ)Requirements and Exemptions
Eligibility Requirements
- Education-must have high school diploma or GED equivalent
- In order to receive the LPQualified (LPQ) designation you must pass the LPQ exam. You do not have to purchase the LPQ courseware to take the LPQ exam. The LPQ courseware is a study tool designed to aid those who wish to earn their LPQ. However if you fail the exam, you must purchase the courseware prior to retesting.
- No continued education requirements.
Exclusions
- Any person convicted of a felony, or if in military service convicted by a general court martial.
- Any person convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude ("moral turpitude" means an offense that calls into question the integrity or judgment of the offender, such as fraud, bribery, corruption, theft, embezzlement, solicitation, etc.).
- Any person with pending criminal charges (felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude).
Exemptions
Passing Grade
- Only a pass or fail status will be given to applicants
Failure & Retesting-
- If someone fails the LPQualified exam, they will be permitted to retest.
- The LPQ courseware must be purchased prior to a retest
- 1st retest has a minimum waiting period of 30 days from the date of the 1st failed test but must complete it within 60 days from the 1st test date
- 2nd retest has a waiting period of 30 days from the date of the 2nd failed test, but must be completed within 90 days from the date of the 1st retest.
- Total time period to complete all retests is 180 days from the 1st test date.
- Maximum time limit on access to course work- 18 months
1 Year License- LPQ
- Purchase of courseware is a license agreement
- Applicants can request license extensions and may be granted extensions if they fall into the following categories;
- Military deployment
- Medical/Accident
- Hardship situations
- LPF reserves the exclusive discretionary right to reject any request for extension.
- Job change will not be a situation qualifying for an extension
The LPQualified (LPQ) designation issued by The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) indicates the certificate holder possesses the knowledge necessary to pass the LPQ examination. This designation does not guarantee the loss prevention skills or performance of any certificate holder. LPF hereby disclaims all liability to third parties in connection with the actual field performance of a certificate holder.
